I too have struggled with maintaining a healthy weight and it's so much harder when you're away from home for extended periods. Each summer I spend a couple of weeks touring, and this past summer I decided that I wasn't going to let my diet slide. I bought good quality chocolate whey protein powder, and before I left camp in the morning I would put a scoop of it in a shaker bottle. When lunchtime rolled around I'd stop at a gas station and buy a bottle of water and a banana, and that got me through the day. I tried to do a hike almost every day too, even if it was just for a half hour. It's amazing what you see when you get off the bike for a little while.
