Don’t be fooled into thinking "This doesn’t apply to me!" MLA Lorne Mayencourt has put forth a private members bill to lower thedecibel level from 91 to 85. The bill can be found here:http://www.leg.bc.ca/38th3rd/1st_read/m203-1.htm Before you think it only applies to the "Loud Pipes Save Lives" advocates please be aware that many bikes including Hondas and Yamahas that are stock are failing the hand held decibel meter test in the City of Vancouver. At present in Canada motorcyclists are left to be subjected to a test that has no standard.
The Motorcycle Moped Industry Council is presently working on this. While BCCOM does not support illegal pipes, it also must protect the rights of motorcyclists from a bill that will only further escalate the problem with a flawed testing system. The issue here is enforcement of legislation that is already in place, use it!
The Coalition asks that you take the time to email your MLA to say you do not agree with this bill and to use the legislation already in place.
Please follow this link to find out who your MLA is:http://www.leg.bc.ca/mla/3-1-1.htm Adele Tompkins,Executive DirectorB.C. Coalition of Motorcyclists adele@bccom-bc.com 1-877-580-0111"Working for your Freedom to Ride"

This and that...
This has been a hectic week. I have a good portion of the subscriber and business cards going out in the mail today. I took a bunch of work with me to do at night and it has paid off.
I am happy to finally have my books done - there's still some error clean up to do but we are getting that done too.
I spoke to the Olds Chamber of Commerce yesterday and the feedback about the show was very positive. I just hope the negotiations over enhanced policing go that well.
I am going to be measuring things out at the Ag grounds to start my vendors layout.
We already have about 20 vendors registered and hope to get that layout up on the site in the next couple of weeks.
Looks like Biker TV will be sending an Alberta film crew to cover the show and Sid's Cycle show is also coming! I am hoping to hear from one more TV show....this is fabulous for our community!
Please read the alert about the missing girl, our members from the CAV sent it in. If you see this young girl, please let the authorities know.
Have a great day.

Newsletters and such
For all those who subscribe to the news paper and have emails, I sent out some newsletters.
I am just getting used to the new administration tools so I apologize if you got more than one!
Advertisers are a key ingredient to why we have this monster web site with so many tools.
Because of them there are now forums, chat rooms, free photo galleries, free on line classifieds - you get the idea!
Because so many web users are unhappy with their current providers we decided to develop www.beltdrivebetty.com into our very own, Canadian Content Groups site.
You can talk with potential members for your riding club or web based group or you can host your group here. Period. The choice is yours and we are NOT trying to step on any ones toes.
We don't want to take over your groups or have any control over them, we merely want to provide our membership with every possible way to communicate their club or group message.
When you sign up as a member/subscriber to the paper, we want to know the group/s you ride with so that we can associate the right avatar with your membership.
We want to celebrate the diversity of the riding community and make sure every rider is hooked up with the information that they want and need.
We want to be your clearinghouse of information for all things riding in Canada.
Your subscription to the Busted Knuckle at www.bustedknucklenews.com
automatically gives you access to all of the member only tools on both web sites.
The free 3rd Birthday Celebration On line subscriptions end soon.
Just a note to all who have gotten a free subscription, I will be emailing everyone to get your mailing addresses and contact information so that we can send out your membership cards.
Your membership cards are your passport to savings so use them well!
Talk to you all soon....

A roller coaster week.
This week has been maddening, delightful, sad and happy. It's really a roller coaster ride this life we live.
My uncle passed away this week at 56 years old. He'd battled with cancer for the better part of 2 years. The last few months have been awful for him and his family and friends. For a number of reasons I can't attend the funeral, but I can tell you I loved, respected and admired the man.
I'm sad yet releived. His sufferring is finally over. RIP Emil Cyr Poitras.
One of the happier things that happened was my daughter and i went for an afternoon at the Mirage Salon and Spa. For a Christmas present my wonderful husband had bought us a mother and daughter manicure and pedicure with a massage. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. I spend so many hours at the computer I forgot what it was like to go out of doors!
Thank you Mark - Nicky and I had a great afternoon.
Two more days and I should finally be done merging and rebuilding my books and information. If all goes well new subscriber cards should be out in the mail this week! I have been working on them for about 13 hours a day for the last two weeks, I am so close to being done I can taste it!
Yes, our lives are all a giant roller coaster ride and I am learning that for every low there is a high and for every high, a low.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

Wild Hogs in Saskatchewan!

Do these two things look like they would be enjoyable ?
Here's your chance to have both...
The movie "Wild Hogs" will be showing this Saturday, 3 March 2007 at 7:00 PM at Galaxy Cinema. The rep from Great Western will be providing the first pint free to patrons that bring their ticket receipt along with them to Brewster's Brewing Co & Restaurant at 480 McCarthy Blvd. N. after the movie.
If your going to go, we suggest you get your tickets in advance (starting Wednesday)
For the free beverages to happen we need to give the rep some numbers, so please send me an email saying how many are going from your party and we'll pass that along to the Great Western Rep.
If your not sure what this movie, have a look at the trailer... http://wildhogs.movies.go.com/
See you there Capt. Ron (Ron Donison) ron.donison@sasktel.net
