Well after riding through the winds from hell (55 to 75 kms per hour)
I finally made it to Lumby. Having a great visit with Drac and HH.
I stopped at some great businesses on the way down and will be bringing you up to speed in next week's paper.
Gonna take advantage of some computer time and plan on leaving for Toad Rock around noon today.
Hope to see some of you there.
No matter where you ride to this weekend or what event you attend - stay safe out there...

Myrtle Beach SC to cancel Bike Weeks....
How many of you have been following the controversy in Myrtle Beach?
http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/news/local/story/494946.html
I'd like to know if anyone here attends the large American Rallies and what your thoughts are on the subject.....
Why do you go to rallies?
Do you go to get naked, drunk and do damage?
Do you go to attend the various venues and hear great bands?
Do you go to seek attention?
Do you go to have a good time with your Friends and how do you define a good time?
I'd like to know your thoughts - if you are a member at www.beltdrivebetty.com drop in to our forums and let us know what you think.
If you aren't but still want to wade in on the discussion drop me a line....

Great Day
I had a great birthday yesterday. It was filled with phone calls, cards and presents.
It was also a highly productive day - the book keeping is getting caught up and we have a ton of new advertisers coming on board and we are cleaning up some typing mistakes in the calendars.
We have almost 1100 members on the site now and the forums are even starting to get used!
I can't wait for Wednesday - just me and my machine for a 9 day adventure then 2 weeks with my hubby....
I hope to see some of you out for the Grande Prairie Poker Run tomorrow - Toys for Tots is hosting it and we are combining it with a silent auction and BBQ for Ride for Dad.
Stay safe out there.....

Holy Cow - We are getting there!
It has been an interesting year so far!
From having zero help save Ali, I now have Arlene in Lumby BC updating the event calendars for me (I do as well, but she does the lions share), I have Carmel in Sherwood Park selling advertising and Kim here in Grande Prairie who has taken over the managing of subscribers for me. WyzWmn does our daily puzzles and comes up with great contest ideas.
A number of riding clubs see the value in promoting their chapters and clubs by submitting stories. A number of riders contribute to our information regularly.
If you'd like to get involved in our web sites or the community newspaper, get in touch - we'd love to grow this thing to provide information from right across the country.
If you don't see your riding style, your community or your passions reflected in the paper or on our web sites it's not because we don't want to carry it - it's because no one from your neck of the woods is getting involved - you could be the first!
On the riding front - well I got out for a bit the other night and am getting ready for a month on the road. I am so happy and grateful to be getting out there - I can't wait!
I hope to see a number of you at Toad Rock, if not there perhaps at Horsethief Hide Out...I am really looking forward to my time on the island....and in Smithers....ah the open road - yea haw!
No matter where you are, what event you are attending - stay safe out there....

I am feeling so grateful today!
A girlfriend of mine is coming to give me a hand with my book keeping - yah know there's hope I might get to ride later today even if it is just to Beaverlodge!
The view from my office window is one of black, chrome and sunshine and I can't wait to be a part of that picture.
I love to ride - and I know that if I am a good girl and get the book keeping done I can go do what I love.
I hope those of you who are lucky enough to be attending an event or on the highway somewhere appreciate absolutely every second - breathe it - feel it - relish it and know I envy you today!
Stay safe out there,
BDB

Sucks to be me
Well I wanted to go to the drags in Medicine Hat but I did not get enough accomplished here in the office to be freed up to go. I was looking so forward to it to.
Oh well not much I can do - and the weather is so nice here - the highway is calling and I am stuck at my desk....only a couple more weeks though and I leave for a month on the road - guess I just need to be patient.
Have a safe weekend no matter what event you attend - and don't forget to submit your event and ride news to the Busted Knuckle - your place for Rider Powered News!

Home again - what a great ride!
Thursday morning I pulled out of Grande Prairie about 10:30 am and I arrived at Sherwood Honda in Sherwood Park around 4:30pm
I had a great time at Sherwood Honda's big Thursday Night Ride Night Kick Off, I want to thank Erin Zimmerman for inviting me and Todd James from the Bear for the Swag!
I got to see a lot of old faces and meet some new friends and oggle nice iron.
I spent a day with a girlfriend, visited my mom and then hooked up with Hubby on Saturday.
We went to Dave Baird's birhday party. Dave and his lovely wife Carmel are osting the Ideek Bike Rally at Lake Eden. If you haven't gotten your tickets - get off your butt - there's only 500 and they are almost half sold out!
We had a blast at Dave and Camel's. A ton of the Falcon's MC were there - in all about 30 people.
Bright and early we headed out on Sunday morning to the Redwater Rider for Hunger.
My day didn't start out too well as Greyhound lost the papers I had shipped in. So yeah - no one got a copy but we had a great poker run - 148 bikes participated and the 50% split was worth $880.
After Redwater we headed out to Morinville and had a feast of ribs and some great conversation. I finished the paper off and sent it to the printers bright and early Monday morning and about 10 am hubby and I jumped on the bikes and had a leisurely trip home. We stopped and had lunch at the River's Pub, visited with Skippy and Shirley at Rigs Restaurant and Motel in Little Smoky and got home at about 6:30pm.
What a wonderful way to spend a weekend with my husband. Side by each sharing our love of the road!
