Hurray a few days on my bike and out with people!
Most of the time I am stuck in my beautiful office all by myself and feel deprived of human companionship....
There are SOOOO many events this weekend! I am going to be at Sherwood Honda tonight for their big Ride Night kick off and then on Sunday I am at the Ride for Hunger in Redwater. I hope to see a whole whack of you this weekend. No matter what event you go to - stay safe out there - have a blast!
I am inviting you all to Share your favorite Day Ride with us for a chance to win some
Proudly Canadian or Belt Drive Betty Gear (made by Badspirit Designs)
What your submission should include…..
A Name for the Ride (IE: Grande Prairie to Wembley – Emerson Trail Route)
A description of your favorite ride in the region where you live;
Include pictures, if you have video (let us know so we can arrange for it to be loaded to Belt Drive Betty’s YouTube Channel or give us the embed code if you already have it on YouTube) – maps – anything that will help a visitor to your town/region to be able to ride like a local.
If you have a favorite stop on the ride route like a look out point or a restaurant etc….share it!

Over 900 Events
There are now over 900 events in the events calendars with more being added all of the time - heck we have hardly gotten the competition events loaded!
It's been a busy time around here and I apologize that I keep forgetting to write here more consistently -.
Please - if you use our site - get involved - help us to make this a terrific tool for all of us!
It's cold and raining - will spring ever really come?
Stay safe out there.

Veterans MC Canada suffers a huge loss.
Cpl Michael Starker of Calgary lost his life to Taliban Insurgents May 6th while on duty as a medic with 15 Field Ambulance.
Starker, who worked as a paramedic in Calgary, Alberta, began his deployment in Afghanistan late last year, Calgary Emergency Medical Services said.
Our brothers of the Veterans MC Canada are hurting real bad over the loss of Michael and they could use your support right now - visit their web site http://www.veteransmccanada.com/ and let them know how you feel.
I myself am at a loss for words as I have met Mike and he was a sweet guy....my heart goes out to all who have been touched by this tragedy.

Mother Nature has a change of Heart
Well, the weather gods here in northern Alberta decided to smile on us and hubby and I put on just shy of 1,200 kilometres this weekend - we went to Rocky Mountain House for the Excessive Chopper Build. Catch this week's paper to read all about it! Not a subscriber? Go to www.bustedknucklenews.com to get your electronic or print subscription today!
I am looking for some sales people who want to make some extra gas money - give me a shout at bdbetty@gmail.com if you are interested - you can live any where in Canada!
We also want your event stories, customer service stories, Favorite Day Rides and anything else you want to contribute. After all, telling the stories of our communities is what a community paper is all about!
Have a great day and stay safe out there....

Canadian Championship of Bike Building Cancelled
Peter Tomko of Saxon Motorcycles announced yesterday that the 2008 Championships can not go ahead due to a disagreement between the organizer and the city. While not many details are available apparently the Town of Olds had some negative things to say about the 2007 Championships and so the City if East Selkirk has become wary.
So - the winner from the Western Championships will represent Canada in Sturgis at the World's.
It's so sad that Politics has to always be involved when it comes to motorcycle events but there yah are.

A pretty decent turn out
I was pretty happy with last night's turn out at Rock City.
About 135 riders showed up, all the art got auctioned off, the models strutted their stuff and our Emcee - Moose was freaking hilarious - it was a good time.
Too bad the play offs and the Masters were on but then there never seems to be a good time to host one of these things - life is surely busy.
If you need an excuse to ride today - stop in at our show n sale at Centre 2000!
Ride safe out there - please.
