I got a newsletter from the folks over at Sturgis Canada that has me shaking my head and wondering...is this a scam or could it possibly become a good time?

Your Favourite Motorcycle Rally is Back!

When we postponed the rally in 2013, we know many were disappointed.

Why did we do it?

We needed a year off to re-create the festival and we are now Sturgis Canada! The new brand reflects the international growth of our event.

The Sturgis Canada Rally will take place August 21-24, 2014 in Merritt, BC, Canada.  We've partnered with the city to utilize the former site of the Merritt Mountain Music Festival and are proud to launch Sturgis Canada in a city known for its love of music and warm, friendly community.   Merritt officials are fully supportive and our team of Canadian and US organizers include the best and the brightest.

Get ready for three stages of live music, action-packed activities and ample on-site camping.

Be prepared for an A-list line-up of bands.  To date, we have Jasmine Cain of Sturgis, South Dakota/Nashville, Tennessee (voted three time North American Female Rocker of the Year), personalities like Rick Dakota, Kimmy Cruz and Jack Schit, and motorcycle traditions that include Bike Games, Burnout Competitions and a Battle of the Bands organized by Supernova Music.

Lots more to come.

Reserve your camping spot online now.  Better yet, kick it up a notch with four-day reserved VIP seating.

If you've camped at our rally before, and have any questions or concerns, please email us for detailed information.

We will keep announcing updates through our newsletter and in the social media world at Facebook, Twitter and our new Sturgis Canada site Biker buzz.

For more information, visit www. sturgis canada .com.

To buy tickets and see pricing, look below.

Just like we have done in the past few years, veterans and their immediate families receive complementary camping.

According to the email the pricing is:

I have to say that no matter where this rally is held, as long as Ray Sasseville or Joan Hansen are involved in ANY WAY - I will NEVER attend.
Too many people that I care about have been hurt for me to feel any level of trust.

My question for the day: WILL YOU ATTEND?
Enquiring Minds want to know...

Not a CHANCE! Really, I'm just thankfull theyre doing it the way they are- at least we know who are the players- nothing hidden there lol. I'm saddened, though, that the city of MERRITT!!! has approved their event to be held there, when the Great Canadian was what many of us were hoping could be resurrected..... Ray and Joan have succeeded in manufacturing a mockery of a highly successful event that's almost 75 years old- we will not consent to having our wallets raped and our hard earned holiday time taken advantage of by their ilk.

I'm still perplexed by the whole model. I've been to Sturgis SD and it doesn't cost a dime to attend. Sure if you want to watch a big concert or paid event that's up to you but the TOWN Hosts the event and vendors are there for everyone, At NO cost. Why doesn't the Town try the proven open door model instead of a few people raping us financially. I sure as hell will not support this bushiness model and I am saddened it has the name STURGIS attached to it. Its NOTHING Like Sturgis.
