I read with much joy an article about a woman named Sue Uteck, a city councilor in Halifax NS who is fighting city hall to get motorcycle designated parking.

This is her second rodeo with this issue and it's nice to see that firstly she rides, secondly she has some tenacity and passion for the issue.

Passion goes a long way when you are working towards something you believe in, tenacity along with that passion and solid information is what it takes to get the job done.

But there is one more thing that is required in any "fight" towards change - YOU. Without numbers behind you fight is all it is. When people get active and involved in any kind of numbers, that's when change happens.

BCCOM, BRO and other organizations out there are working on obtaining more rights for people who ride. The pay isn't the best and in many cases the battles are fought by volunteers - people who live the life and are fed up with the second class way we are treated.

There are so many reasons for people who ride to get involved in organizations that are there to look out for a riders rights...but very few do get involved and like so many things to do with the human race they don't get involved until their lives have been negatively impacted.

So my question to you today is, what are you passionate about?
What is important to you, as a rider, as a human being and more importantly what are you doing to affect change towards the things that have your heart?

Sorry it's been a couple of days since I have written to you all. Every time I sat down to write it seemed that something important came along that needed dealing with and by the end of the day I was so wiped out I couldn't think or see straight!

Here in the north peace we are in another deep freeze as is much of the prairies...riding season feels like it's a ways off yet.

Stay safe and warm....
