Computers, friend or foe?

Sometimes when on the road the challenge of working with a computer can be maddening.
Finally I got the paper off to the printer this morning less the runs rallies and events pages because Godaddy was updating some fancy component that I had to have in order to pull the events from the calendars. So, frustrating as that is, the runs, rallies and events won't appear until next week.

I head to the airport tomorrow morning at 5 am and with any luck I will be at my good friend Barry's in Blackfalds and be able to spend some time getting the events pages done and ready for next Monday morning's print.

It has been a wonderful experience being in Toronto, meeting such good people but I am glad to be heading back to Alberta. It means that three more weeks and I get to sleep in my own bed!

What a great day!

Watching the Chrome Divas getting their MAX Award was awesome! Man do those ladies have energy, integrity and spunk!

Glenn Roberts from Motorcycle Mojo won an award for his Custom Publication, Ken Venus won for Biker Radio Magazine, Motorcycle Tour Guide Nova Scotia won an award as did Atilla and Tina from Freakin Leather!

So many good people were recognized for their service to the Motorcycle community - it was a great awards ceremony.

I got to meet the CAV National President and Vice President - I have known both Trapper and Drifter for about 4 years but again, had never met them. What great guys.

I got to have a great chat with Adrian Blake from Ride On on Blog talk radio and had a wonderful chat with Nancy from Tech Sox.

It has been soooo busy but so very wonderful!

One more day at the show, then tomorrow build the paper, have a day off and then on a plane to Edmonton to grab my car and make my way to Calgary....I hear the weather at home in GP has been averaging -37 since I left....glad I've been here in -9 weather!

Heck there are guys like Mike Collins whom I was introduced to who are still riding here!

Anyway gang, I am off to get ready for the last day of the Toronto Super Show - chat with you tomorrow.

Changes and meetings

Change can be for the good or the bad as we all know.

I am not sure what is happening in the custom industry but obviously not much...the same tired old bikes being shown in custom alley - I guess with this economy no one is buying fancy, expensive rides which is sad yet understandable.

There aren't any more than 40 machines in custom alley, there are however some colorful characters and a whack of interesting vendors! For a Friday the show was very busy, I know that today people will be packed in like sardines in a can....

The Chrome Diva's booth has been super busy, they have a beautiful framed print they are selling tickets on to raise funds for their little one Brianna, some beautiful old hummers and some of the most genuine, down to earth and real women I have ever had the pleasure to be around.

I got to visit with my old friend Glenn Roberts from Motorcycle Mojo and saw Randy form the Friends of Veterans, got to meet Wendy from the Motorcycle Tour Guide Nova Scotia, Kawigal came and introduced herself as did Adrian - he's entered in our show n shine....I saw Nancy Meyer from Tech Sox - man in one day it has already felt like Old Home Week!

It's cold and snowy here but...off to work I go.

Safe and sound

I arrived in Toronto and the gals from the Chrome Divas picked me up at the airport.

I am so honored to have these women as my friends, they are truly inspirational!

I am staying with Diva Crystal and last night she took me to a great Irish Pub for supper.
Some of her friends have a band and they were playing there. Man were they good. Yonge St is sure different that when I lived here as a little girl. Very trendy and upscale, lots of sushi bars and Irish and British pubs and all varieties of ethnic foods....

We are heading over to the Super Show in about 2 hours and I will get to meet many of the people that I have been working with Like Adrian Blake from RideOn and Ken Venus from Biker Radio Magazine. I am so excited!

Any how, I need to go jump in the shower so until tomorrow....

On my way

In about 6 hours I will be on the highway to Edmonton. I'll be stopping in at Doug Blackie's in Leduc to wish him a Happy Birthday and to finish training Sandra.

Tomorrow at 5:30 am I am on a plane to Toronto and the Super Show - I am in the MAX Award winning riding club booth of the Chrome Divas as a special guest of the Toronto Super Show.

I am so honored and more excited than words can express!

I am looking forward to meeting Ken Venus of Biker Radio Magazine who interviewed me a couple of weeks ago and Adrian Blake from Ride On who interviewed me some time ago for the Sun...who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to turn the tables on them! It will be great to see Bar and Hedy again and I am finally going to get to meet Cookie, we missed each other the last time I was in Toronto when I got my MAX award.

I am very excited about going to all of the January Bike Shows - yes I am looking forward to seeing the new iron offerings but more importantly I am looking forward to seeing and meeting you - the wonderful people who make up this community!

Our Beat the PMS Blues Show 'n' Shine has 96 entries in it! Thank you everyone!
In my mind this is a huge success and Ali and I are already planning the next one!
This is a wonderful way to "meet" everyone. WOW!

While I am on the road, Arlene will be working her but off on the events calendars along with Bryan.

Ali and Lori will be approving new members, Ali will be posting the news and approving stories and I will fill in where I can as time and connections to the internet allows.

Wyz will be posting her daily puzzles and Sandra and Poet will be around in the forums.

I am going to keep my blog up to date and fill you in on how the shows are going, but watch the Busted Knuckle Chronicles and the BDB Club e-newsletter for features and discount coupons to some of the shows...

2009 is going to be the most fantastic year! I feel it in my bones!

New Year's Resolutions

Have you got any new year's resolutions made yet?

How many of them do you think you will actually accomplish?

I have decided that I am only setting one resolution this year - to work 1 hour less each day and spend that hour with my husband.

It's sad you know, I have waited all of my life for this man and now that I have him in my life I spend all of my time working...so I am going to show him this year that I value him and his love by taking more time with him. Right after I get home from a month on the road in January - I resolve to work 15 hours a day as opposed to 16...

So - I ask again...what is your resolution?

Four days left to enter your ride

There are currently 76 entries in our Beat the PMS Blues show 'n' shine....my goal was one hundred....come on people, help a girl out here.

You only have 4 days left to get your ride entered so don't tarry too much longer or you'll miss out on the great prizes we have lined up...

I fell last week and jammed the old hip pretty hard and I have had a tough time sitting for any length of time.

I need a couple of volunteers to give me a hand with updating the events calendars.

I am desperate for some help. I have an appointment on Monday to have the hip looked at - I hope they can do something because driving to Edmonton to catch a flight to Toronto is going to suck hard if I feel like this...
